Lift Coffee, now known as LFTD Coffee, is a community uplift project by 3-Michelin Star Chef and The French Laundry Alumni Chef Stephen Trujillo, aimed at helping underserved communities & youth overcome adversity and transform--creatively, professionally, and culturally--through a culture of people-first, community collaboration, creative exploration, and the values of respect & excellence, manifesting first in a third space of LFTD Coffee, with plentiful seating, culturally-relevant soundscape, and art deco by historically timeless Los Angeles-based creators over the course of the past 40 years in street culture.
With great misfortune, LFTD faced a freak truck explosion outside their shop, from a gas leak by a repairman that resulted in staff burns, and faced closure, 6-figure loss, and total team & community mental health setback.
With no understanding of how to recover or if recovery was possible, Owner & Chef Stephen reached out to us for help, and we spent weeks understanding the entire brand, happenings, and facts, before helping create a campaign that represented the voice of the community and revealed the importance of coming together to overcome this adversity for the greater good, resulting in a successful community effort that uplifted the brand and led to a stellar first-month back.
